Start with movement
The useful minimum shutter speed depends on the subject and focal length. A walking person, moving child and still landscape need different limits; begin from the motion you want to hold.
Give ISO a ceiling
Pick a maximum ISO after reviewing files from your own camera. The right number is the point where the texture still supports the image you want to make.
Let the system do one job
Once the limits are sensible, let Auto ISO handle changing light while you concentrate on framing and timing. Revisit the boundaries after a real outing rather than endlessly adjusting them indoors.
