What Makes a Keeper?
A useful set of questions for choosing photographs that stay meaningful after the novelty of the shoot fades.

Start with the pull
A keeper usually has a reason you want to look again: a moment, a relationship between shapes, a colour or an atmosphere. Write down the reason when it is not obvious.
Then check the craft
Technical quality matters when it supports the final use. A small focus miss may not matter in a quiet family photograph; it may matter in an image you want to print large.
Keep the version with the clearest voice
When several frames are similar, choose the one that says the most with the least distraction. The answer is not always the sharpest or most conventionally balanced frame.
